e-Health Network has been approved as a New York e-Health Collaborative (NYeC) Regional Extension Center (REC) Outreach and Implementation Agent. Current Health Information Technology (HIT) initiatives support the consistent, nationwide adoption and use of secure Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ultimately enhance the quality and value of health care. RECs offers technical assistance, guidance and information on best practices to support and accelerate health care providers become meaningful users of Electronic Health Records. As an REC Outreach Agent, e-Health Network of Long Island will be a leading resource for area providers who have recently implemented an EHR system or are just beginning the EHR selection process. As an REC Implementation Agent, e-Health Network of Long Island is able to provide technical support to assist physicians in adopting and becoming meaningful users of EHR’s. For providers who have not yet chosen a EHR system will be provided with step by step guidance throughout the entire selection and implemetation process and will be further supported in efforts to achieve Meaningful Use.
