e-Health Network of Long Island is a Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO). A RHIO is a not-for-profit organization
made up of health providers in a region. By using technology to store, protect, and see patient health information, the goals are to:

E-Health Network of Long Island is Putting Possibility into Practice
E-health Network of Long Island is made up of healthcare providers who use the network for clinical data exchange. The purpose is to enhance
access and communication among providers in eastern Nassau and Suffolk County communites. Physicians in the network will be able to access
the following services and information:
- Patient demographic information
- Emergency data, such as medication lists, allergy information, and problems lists
- Discharge summary
- Progress notes distribution
- Person-to-person clinical secure messaging
- Electronic referral
- Document sharing (unstructured)
- In patient and out patient laboratory results
- Radiology results
- Advance directives
- Sensitive information, such as HIV/AIDS, mental health, genetic diseases or tests, and alcohol and substance abuse
Even Small Facilities and Those Without Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) Can Join.

Readily Access the Information You Need to Make Decisions Without Guesswork
- Access patients’ health information whether you are on rounds at the hospital or in your office, including problems
lists, allergies, and medications.
- Access radiology/lab results, abnormal results, hospital discharge summaries, progress notes, and other clinical documents

- Level III users: The system is
integrated with the existing EMR system. As a result, many updates that are entered into that EMR system can automatically be uploaded onto
the network and made available for sharing with authorized providers.
